Jersey Water is proud to announce that it has retained Silver accreditation from Investors in People for the third time, reinforcing the utility’s commitment to creating a positive and productive workplace.
Investors in People is a globally recognised framework that assesses how effectively organisations lead, support and manage their employees. Jersey Water first earned the Silver standard in 2018; retaining it demonstrates the company’s ongoing investment in its workforce.
On receiving the reaccreditation, Helier Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Water said:
“Our employees are at the heart of everything we do at Jersey Water, so this achievement underscores the importance we place on investing in our people. It is not only the right thing to do but it is also essential to delivering the best possible service for our customers.”
Securing Silver accreditation followed a rigorous assessment process, including an employee survey completed by 89% of the workforce, in-depth employee interviews with the Investors in People assessor and a detailed evaluation of the company’s leadership practices, culture and values.
Only 21% of all the businesses assessed worldwide by Investors in People achieve Silver accreditation. Retaining this standard also places Jersey Water among the top-tier companies in the Island, emphasising the utility’s continuous efforts to make sure employees are satisfied and engaged in their work.
David Dale, Independent Assessor for Investors in People commented:
“What was very apparent to me was that Jersey Water is a very supportive friendly, flexible and enjoyable place to work. It’s seen by its employees as an employer of choice. People support each other and our proud to work for Jersey Water because it has a positive reputation in the Island.”
The feedback from the assessment reinforced Jersey Water’s dedication to its values and the development of its employees.
