Jersey Water has pledged to help raise £10,000 towards the JSPCA Coronavirus Emergency Appeal. Each year, employees at the company support a chosen charity by holding various social events, quiz nights and the very popular Hydration Stations at festivals and events such as Out There and The Weekender.
For the first time, Jersey Water will be adding a leaflet into customer bills asking if they would consider making a donation to the JSPCA and then Jersey Water will match every £1 raised.
The dedicated animal care teams, Vets and 24-hour ambulance drivers at the Animals’ Shelter have worked throughout the coronavirus pandemic, helping domestic animals and wildlife that are sick, injured, lost and abandoned. And now, the charity is asking for support from the community to help them to continue to provide their services across the Island.
Debra D’Orleans, JSPCA CEO, said, ‘We are thrilled to be working with Jersey Water on this campaign to help us fund our vital support for animals and wildlife. It is a really exciting opportunity not only to fundraise but also raise awareness of the work that we do and the many services we offer for the community.”
Helier Smith, Chief Executive at Jersey Water, said, “We are delighted to be able to support our chosen charity, the JSPCA. Our charity committee proposed the idea to insert a leaflet into our customers’ bills to raise awareness of the JSPCA Coronavirus Appeal, which we are pleased to have been able to launch this week.”
Jersey Water is delighted to support such a worthwhile Jersey charity and hopes that the campaign is a success. They will also be making a donation to the Jersey Hedgehog Preservation Society, another valued local charity that the team wished to support this year.
