Jersey Water will be supporting the NatWest Island Games XVI – Jersey 2015 by providing re-useable 50cl water sports bottles to all competitors, officials and helpers during the week of the Games.
Jersey Water will also be working with the organisers to supply drinking water to the sports venues so that the bottles can be refilled as required throughout the event, which runs from 27 June to 3 July 2015.
Helier Smith, Chief Operating Officer for Jersey Water, said: “Jersey Water is delighted to be supporting the NatWest Island Games. By providing these reusable sports bottles we can help keep all participants hydrated as they compete. We also want to support the Games’ environmental objectives by supplying re-useable sports bottles rather than creating more rubbish from traditional disposable water bottles that have to go in to landfill.”
The bottles are branded to incorporate the NatWest Island Games logo and Jersey Water’s logo with a simple message “Love sport, just add water“. The bottles are dishwasher safe, have hands-free lids and are designed to be refilled with tap water and reused over a period of time.
Steve Bailey, Island Games Director for 2015 NatWest Island Games, said: “We must provide drinking water for all the competitors and officials, and were faced with importing a large amount of bottled water, which would have been expensive and produced a lot of waste. By giving everyone reusable sports bottles and access to drinking water, we are being environmentally friendly, saving money, and giving our visitors a gift that they will take home when they go.
“We are very grateful to Jersey Water for their fantastic support in supplying the water bottles and helping with the logistics involved in ensuring that we have plenty of drinking water available throughout the Games.”
