After a successful year of fundraising for Donna Annand Melanoma Charity (DAMC), Jersey Water are thrilled to announce that we have raised £7,700!

The Donna Annand Melanoma Charity was selected by Jersey Water staff as their charity for 2015 after a popular vote and the team soon got to work with their fundraising efforts. From cake sales to dress down days and raffles, it seemed that everyone got behind the cause as this has been a truly record breaking year for our fundraising efforts.
With fundraising monies received from Jersey Water, DAMC linked up with Love Theatre to deliver a short stage performance to Jersey’s secondary schools students aged 15-16 years. The stage production called ‘FRY’ dealt with the misconceptions and dangers of the sun and tanning. ‘FRY’ included larger than life characters with fast-paced scenes to educate young people about how to protect their skin from the serious and deadly disease, Malignant Melanoma.
Cheryl Kaye, Chairman of the Jersey Water Charity Committee commented: “Our staff have participated with enthusiasm to raise money for their annual chosen charity of choice, and we are proud to be able to match their efforts which has enabled DAMC to launch this innovative stage production to raise awareness of Malignant Melanoma”.
About Donna Annand Melanoma Charity
The charity was formed in June 2011 to highlight the dangers of malignant melanoma and raise awareness of the disease following Donna’s death in February 2011. Donna wanted people to be aware of the dangers of melanoma and that early detection of the disease is key.
